About Robert Kirkwood

Robert Kirkwood lectured in Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies at the University of Edinburgh and is one of the best-known Religious Studies Educators in the UK. In the 1980’s he wrote a series of ground-breaking textbooks (Looking for God: Looking for Proof of God: Looking for Happiness) which introduced Moral Philosophy and Philosophy of Religion to students of all ages and abilities in Secondary Schools.

Further publications followed (If I were God I’d Say Sorry: God Knows Who I Am: Philosophy of Religion) and all were sold extensively throughout the U.K. and other countries. These publications have had a major impact on the development of Religious Studies and Philosophy in the Secondary School.

He has a wealth of experience as a lecturer and teacher and spent much of his early teaching career working in inner-city schools in socially deprived areas. He is a speaker who brings to conferences a fresh approach and an ability to provoke, stimulate and inspire students of all ages and abilities.
